Make before you manage.
I read this advice from Tim Ferriss recently. It's pretty solid. I don't follow this every day, but I try to do it at least a couple of days a week. I open my laptop, force-quit Slack, and work on something, uninterupted, for about an hour.
An hour isn't usually enough time to do something big or great, but it's definitely enough to get you that "I did something" feeling.
