Advice for people doing engineering interviews

If I have one piece of advice for someone doing an interview, for an engineering role or probably anything else, it's this:

Think and act like the interview is down to just you and one other person. Assume the other person is great. They have the same skills as you, and slightly more experience. They seem great. What makes you better than them? Spend the first quarter of the time establishing that you're as skilled as they are, and then focus all the rest on what makes you better.

Leave no question in the interviewer's mind that you're the one. Intensely inject every one of your answers with this belief.
